Classes


This on-line course is the first step to becoming a certified SCUBA diver and experiencing the amazing underwater world. You can start your training now, just pick any available date it does not matter. You will need to do pool sessions at a later time at an additional expense, ( $235 ). However, the online course does not need to be complete before signing up for the pool sessions. To complete the certification, you will do four open water dives. These 4 dives can be done locally in a hot spring or high mountain lake. You may choose to do them in a tropical destination on one of our trips or on your on own. The additional cost for the four Open Water dives is $350 when completed with Beaver Divers.

The second step in the Open Water Diver certification is the two days of confined water training which is done in the swimming pool.. The pool training must be completed before step three-- your four open water dives. Included in the pool training is the BCD, regulator, dive computer, tanks and weights. Students need to provide their own mask, fins, snorkel and wetsuit. They are for sale at Beaver Divers and we provide a guaranteed fit on all gear purchased at Beaver Divers

Cost: $ 235.00
The final step to becoming a certified Open Water Scuba Diver requires four dives in an open water setting. Dives are conducted over two days at the The Crater in Midway, Utah. This is a 90 degree, 65 foot deep hot spring, with visibility ranging from 40-60 feet!

The SDI Inactive Diver/Refresher Program is designed to update and review the knowledge and skill level of an inactive diver. This course is recommended for divers that have not been diving in over a year or for divers that are about to go on a dive trip. Cost does not include SCUBA gear or any gear rental except tanks and weights.

The SDI Inactive Diver/Refresher Program is designed to update and review the knowledge and skill level of an inactive diver. This option includes two open water dives at the Homestead Crater, a 90 degree natural hot spring located in Midway, Utah. Dives are between 20 - 45 feet for up to 40 minutes with visibility typically 35-50 feet.

The SDI Divemaster Course is the first professional level certification. During the course you will learn how to work with divers, lead certified divers, and act as a dive guide showing divers underwater dive sites and the marine life that inhabits those dives sites. You will increase your knowledge about physics and physiology as well as increase your proficiency with your scuba and snorkeling skills.

Adult & Child Emergency Care


This course is cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR), first aid, and automated external defibrillator (AED) use combined into one program. It is designed to teach the techniques to administer CPR, first aid, and utilize an AED in emergency situations involving infants, children, and adults. This comprehensive program is appropriate for workplace training or general knowledge to be better prepared day to day. The CPR and AED components cover the knowledge needed to address one of the largest causes of death in the world. Intervening with this knowledge can possibly save a life. The first aid program reviews common techniques to treat serious emergencies, as well as less serious, more common issues.
Course Fee: $80 includes eLearning and classroom time.


Advanced Buoyancy 


Introducing a diver to the benefits of controlling his buoyancy usually has a great positive effect, an effect that will enhance the diver's sense of enjoyment and feeling of accomplishment. This specialty is designed to increase the open water diver's understanding of the factors that influence buoyancy, and to train the diver how to use the means available to him as methods for controlling his buoyancy. The added benefits to the marine and freshwater environments, cannot be overstated; as well as a diver that has better control of himself in conjunction with his environment.
Course Fee: $129 Includes instruction, dive entrance fees, tanks, weights, registration fee, and certification card. Rentals not included.


Altitude Diver


The purpose of the SDI Altitude Diver Course is to acquaint a diver with the necessary procedures and knowledge to dive safely at altitudes at least 300 meters/1000 feet above sea level.
Course Fee: $129 Includes eLearning course, 2 dives, tanks, weights, class materials & in-water dive training. Rentals not included.


Computer Diver


The SDI Computer Diver Course is designed to expand a diver's knowledge in the use of their personal dive computer (PDC) and is primarily intended for divers who are certified with agencies using traditional dive tables for planning, rather than PDCs throughout training.
Course Fee: $199 Includes instruction, dive entrance fees, tanks, weights, registration fees, and certification card. Rentals not included.


Computer Nitrox


Nitrox is a breathing gas that has a lot of benefits for both new and experienced divers. This course will cover the use of nitrox mixtures from 22 to 40 percent oxygen. This course can be taken with dives or on land.
Course Fee: $199 Includes online course, practical in-class, use of analyzer and nitrox tank, dive card and registration fees.


Deep Diver


SDI's Deep Diver Course is a must for any diver wishing to explore a little more, go a little deeper, and learn the risks and benefits associated with deep diving. Many interesting sights lay just beyond open water diver training limits such as: beautiful wall dives, shipwrecks, and critters that don't come into the shallows.The purpose of this course is to provide the necessary training to plan and execute dives that are beyond the depth range experienced during an SDI Open Water Scuba Diver course, specifically beyond 18 metres/60 feet and to a maximum depth of not greater than 40 metres/130 feet. By the end of the course your knowledge, awareness, and comfort level with deep diving activities will have increased.

Dry Suit


The SDI Dry Suit Diver Course will open up a whole new world of diving to you. Many of the diving environments around the world are better experienced in a dry suit. Why? These areas have an abundance of marine life waiting to be seen and photographed they just happen to be a little colder! Dry suits are also used in tropical water during the cooler months. This course allows the student to develop the knowledge and skills to properly use a dry suit. It will discuss the types of dry suits, accessories, maintenance and how to make basic repairs.
Course Fee: $439, includes eLearning, and in water time. Rentals including dry suit is not included.


Intro to Tech


Who this course is for:
Certified open water scuba diver who wants to expand diver knowledge

Marine Eco-System Awareness


Divers have a vested interest in protecting the marine environment. In many cases, divers do not have
environmental information about the local sites. This specialty is designed to increase the diver's understanding of marine and freshwater environments, the problems facing these unique ecosystems, and the role that divers play in protecting our marine resources. In addition, divers will learn about the specific marine life in the area where they are taking the course.
Course Fee: $129.95 Includes academic training and two open water dives. Rentals not included.


Rescue Diver Course


Learn rescue techniques, stress, injury and accident management
Course Fee: $399 Includes 4 dives in open water in The Crater, entrance fees into the Crater, Online course or textbook.  Does not include gear rental.


SDI Sidemount


The certified diver looking to use a sidemount cylinder instead of the standard back mount unit.
Course Fee: $489 includes eLearning and in water time. 


Search & Recovery


This specialty is designed to acquaint the diver with the special skills and techniques necessary to
successfully plan, execute and evaluate a search and recovery dive.
Course Fee: $129.95 eLearning portion only.


Solo Diver


The Solo Diver course stresses proper dive planning, personal limitations, and accident prevention, as well as the benefits, hazards, and proper procedures for diving solo. You will also learn the additional equipment that is required for solo diving including its proper usage and assembly. This is the perfect course for underwater photography and underwater video divers as well as those diving with their children or buddies that may not be very experienced in scuba diving. 
Course Fee: $439 Includes eLearning and in water time. Rentals not included.


TDI Advanced Nitrox


TDI ADVANCED NITROX DIVER
Are you looking to expand your dive time? Maybe you're a scientific diver or photographer looking to stay in the water a little longer? The TDI Advanced Nitrox Course qualifies divers to use enriched air nitrox from EAN 21 through EAN 100 percent within your current certification level to a maximum depth of 40 meters/130 feet during dives that do not require staged decompression. Often taught in conjunction with the TDI Decompression Procedures course, this can be considered the foundation of your technical diving career. TDI Advanced Nitrox is also a must for SCR or CCR divers.
Course Fee: $639 Includes eLearning and in water time. Rentals not included.  Please note that there is an additional fee for the nitrox tanks. 

Underwater Navigation


Divers are intensely fascinated by navigation. . . It allows them to make their way back to a special spot discovered on an earlier dive. They use the tricks and techniques of navigation to find an ideal exit point at the end of a dive without the need for an uncomfortable surface swim. Your SDI Underwater Navigation Specialty course will help you overcome the obstacles inherent to finding your way underwater. You will learn how easy and simple navigation can be and how it will help you both above and below the surface. During this course, you will review natural aids such as sand ripples or reef formations, which can accurately predict your route. Tools such as mechanical or digital compasses are a surprising challenge to the novice but we will help you unravel the challenge and teach the practical skills and techniques you'll need to use them effectively.

This course is designed to give students a greater understanding and experience on how to properly navigate underwater using both natural and compass navigation.
Cost: $199 Includes eLearning, In-water training, instruction, tanks, weights, and certification card fee. Rentals not included. 

Underwater Photography


Who this course is for:
The certified diver looking for more information regarding the use of underwater photography for scuba diving, and wanting bring back many memories of their underwater adventures to share with family and friends
Course prerequisites:
SDI Open Water Scuba Diver, SDI Junior Open Water Diver, or equivalent
Minimum age 18, 10 with parental consent
